New in Version 3.7, 28 August 2008

The product enhancements in this version streamline the synchronisation of Wellnomics WorkPace with Wellnomics Risk Management, the integrated software solution that manages the health and safety of computer users.

  • Daily usage data can upload at shutdown: The daily usage data upload can now be made to Wellnomics Risk Management at the time of Windows or Wellnomics WorkPace shutdown. This feature spreads the load on the server when it is being used for synchronisation by large numbers of employees, and also allows greater support for end users that use a “Hot Desk” working environment.
  • Enhanced measurement for mouse movement has been incorporated into this release.
  • Support for reduced data upload to Wellnomics Risk Management. Wellnomics Risk Management can notify Wellnomics WorkPace 3.7 that some statistics, (such as individual keys, laptop usage, and statistics for individual applications such as Word and Excel) do not need to be uploaded during synchronisation. This feature minimizes the data held by Wellnomics Risk Management in the Wellnomics Risk Management Database and reduces synchronisation time.
  • Monitor Only mode: In this mode Wellnomics WorkPace works in the background, recording computer usage. The user does not see breaks and exercises but their computer usage data can be sent to the Wellnomics Risk Management system. Users who need to have Wellnomics WorkPace fully implemented can be easily and quickly identified. This mode is aimed at new users of Wellnomics WorkPace so that their risk levels can be assessed before their breaks and exercises routine is configured.
  • License period renewal: At the end of a license period, Wellnomics WorkPace now communicates with the Wellnomics server to find a new license, before it shows an expired warning. This is particularly useful when Wellnomics WorkPace is being rolled out over time in large organisations.

Microsoft Vista compatibility.

Digital signing enabled: Digital signing is a technology that ensures that the software is in its original form and has not been tampered with. All WorkPace *.exe and *.dll files are now digitally signed.

New in Version 3.4, 21 September 2006

Blank Screen option: The Administrator is able to select that a blank screen appears during WorkPace breaks. This is useful to reinforce the actual break for users at the highest risk.

Standby duration selection: Standby in WorkPace can be useful for short periods when someone doesn't want to be interrupted (e.g. when making a presentation). However, sometimes the user can forget to turn WorkPace back on afterwards. This new function allows the user to select the duration of the standby after which time WorkPace will automatically resume.

Logoff safety guard: When daily or weekly computer-use limits have been reached a window appears to notify the user. The user can choose to ignore the notice and continue working, or log-off the computer. If "logoff" is selected the user will now be prompted to confirm that they wish to close down their computer. This will prevent any inadvertent shut-downs.

New in Version 3.2, 31 May 2006

New Monitoring Engine: WorkPace 3.2 introduces a major advance in measuring computer use. With support for Windows Direct X and Windows XP Raw Input WorkPace can measure more than ever before. Immediate benefits are monitoring of mouse scroll wheel activity, and distinguishing better between real and computer generated keystrokes (e.g. from speech recognition programs). This new engine will allow WorkPace to measure new statistics not previously possible , such as laptop usage and identifying what type of mouse or keyboard is being used. This will help WorkPace measure risks even more accurately than before.

Recording Time on Standby: Standby in WorkPace can be useful for short periods when someone doesn’t want to be interrupted (e.g. when making a presentation). However, leaving WorkPace on standby too much can risk user’s health. Now you can report on how much standby is being used. Identify users who’re using standby too much.

New in Version 3.1, 31 March 2006

Desk Mode: Requested by many, WorkPace ‘desk mode’ is finally available. Many clients have said they’d like to keep being reminded to take micropauses, breaks and do stretches regularly, even when not using the mouse or keyboard. For example, if they are writing at their desk, or if using speech recognition software. Now WorkPace can support this with a new feature called ‘Desk Mode’.

Turn on this feature and WorkPace will swap into ‘desk mode’ after you stop using the mouse and keyboard for a while. This will ensure you maintain healthy work habits away from the computer as well when using it.
